-Metro Theory-

The metro never fails me when I want to see interesting people.  And it can tell you a lot about Parisians.

Today on my way to class, I was sitting in the Concorde metro station waiting for my train, and two women walked by me.  First came the snazzy chic in red lipstick, black leather boots, a short black skirt and leopard-print top, and a long, black coat trailing in her wake.  Before I could even wonder where she had found such a great purse, woman #2 came along.  She had on dirty sneakers, straight brown pants with a crisp crease, a blue button-down, light blue rain jacket, and a short, straight, no-maintenance haircut.

The Parisian part of this story is that had they switched outfits, they would have looked identical.  And they were both at least in their 50s, if not 60s.  It's just odd to see 2 similar people sporting such different lifestyles, but these things happen a lot in Paris.  Something else which happens a lot in Paris is me eating crêpes...
